Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush swatch.

This is Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. I've got the container and swatches here so you can get a feel for this product.

I read a lot about this color before I finally bought it. I'd heard such grand reviews and how it flatters any color eye, especially green (which I happen to have). I tried to find it locally to check it out before I bought it because the internet's advice has burned me before (Fool me once, shame on you...).Amber Rush was the only infallible eyeshadow that was sold out of every display in every place I went. Apparently I wasn't the only one looking for this product. I eventually gave in after lusting over swatches online and ordered it from Amazon (I have Prime so Amazon is my default place to shop online) for around $11, that includes shipping. For paying that much for a singe drugstore eyeshadow I expected to me awe-struck with Amber Rush, but alas, I was not.

The swatches and in the container seemed a lot more pink online than in person. I checked other swatches and some look like mine and some look like a pink frost eyeshadow. I don't know if it's a fluke or if the batches they made it in differed or what, but as you can see, it shows gold more than pink and seems to be getting less pink over time. The first time I used it on my eyes I did like it, I wasn't too sparkly but gave a nice sheen, it wore decently and did go well with green eyes. But since I've had it I've maybe worn it 3 times because of how let down I was after buying it.

Letting go of my personal negative experience, the quality of the product is there. It's pigmented, you can use it wet or dry and the wear time you get out of it is great, I wore it all day and only noticed the metallic nature of it start to fade. I didn't notice much creasing, just the usual minor movement of product that comes from moving your face all day. The communication breakdown about the true nature of this eyeshadows color could come from anything to cameras used, lighting, what other colors are used with it and an individuals skin tone. I think the warm toned copper and red hues mixed with the frost and metallic nature and orange undertones made for a tricky time of photographing this eyeshadow in it's true form.
